Lord, we need you. Help us to understand your grace, mercy, and peace. This we ask in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ Amen!
Fear of the Lord is the Treasure:
The Message is entitled “Fear of the Lord is our Treasure”. The key verse is Isaiah 33:6 which says wisdom and knowledge are the stability of our times and the strength of our salvation, and the fear of the Lord is his treasure. Wisdom and knowledge are the right way to stability. If we use our emotions and opinion, it brings instability. We should not use our emotions to make decisions. We should take decisions in our life according to the wisdom and knowledge of God Amen! When we make our decisions with wisdom and knowledge, at that moment, we start to find stability in our life.
Definition of the Fear of the Lord:
Proverbs 8:13 says fear of the Lord hates evil. Proverbs 6:16 says what God hates, we should hate. We have to stand on the word of God and when we do, there is stability. Proverbs 14:27 says fear of the Lord is the foundation of life which turns us from the snares of death. So, we find life when we find the fear of the Lord. Amen! Psalm 19:9 says the fear of the Lord sanctifies us and cleanse us. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge as it says in Proverbs 1:7 and Proverbs 9:10
What motivates a man to walk in the fear of the Lord?
Life of Noah:
In Hebrews 11:7, Genesis 9. Noah had the fear of the Lord. He obeyed God because he had the fear of the Lord. So, he got the blessing, and he saved his childrens. When we have the fear of the Lord, we will follow the word of God on the narrow path even when everyone is going for the wide path. Amen!
Life of Abraham:
In Genesis 22:17 it says God says “Don’t kill Isaac, for now I know you fear me.” Without the fear of the Lord and without obedience we miss our blessing. So, in Genesis 24:35 God made Abraham exceedingly rich and He blessed him.
Life of Jacob:
Genesis 39:5 to 9, Genesis 41:38 to 46 says Joseph had the fear of the Lord. When we have the fear of the Lord it will keep us from sin and it allows us to fulfill our destiny. So, the fear of the Lord allowed Joseph’s destiny to be fulfilled.
Life of David:
David had the fear of God and he loved God. It says in II Samuel 3:18 that the fear of the Lord took him from a shepherd boy to be a king. He feared God and because of that, even though he lost everything, God re-established him. He got the treasure.
Life of Nehemiah:
In Nehemiah 5:15, Nehemiah walked forwards in the fear of the God. So, from a servant he became the governor because he feared the Lord. This was the treasure he valued in his life. Amen!
Life of Obadiah:
In I kings 18:12,36,37 Obadiah grew up in the fear of God. So, God used him and he received a great treasure in his life.
This is the treasure that all the different people in the bible get by following the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord comes from the Holy Spirit when people walk in power and walk in the spirit, they will get the victory.
Definition of Treasure:
Earthly treasure is like vapor; it vanishes. When we walk in the fear of the Lord, it is a treasure that comes from heaven. Through the fear of the Lord, the treasure we receive is like a well which means whenever we take from it, it refills itself. John 7:37,38 He said come to me if you are thirsty, and I will give you water. You will never thirst again. So, the treasure of heaven is like wisdom and knowledge. When you tap into the well of salvation through the fear of the Lord whatever we withdraw is immediately replaced and the water comes back to us. I peter 2:9 says we are taken from darkness to light. Isaiah 45:1to3 says when we receive our blessing through the fear of the Lord, we can see his glory in many ways. God wanted to use Cyrus so he gave him ‘the treasures of darkness’ and then he became a blessing, Amen! God’s treasure is honest in Mathew 12:34 it says out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. II Corinthians 5:17, II Corinthians 4:6,7 Ephesians 1: 17, 18 in all these places it says, new life in Jesus is a treasure. The wisdom of the fear of the Lord opens things up in us, due to God’s treasure. It will bring revelation of the word of God. In Mathew 6:19,20 and Exodus 19:5 says when we fear the Lord, we are Gods treasure. Amen! We are the treasure, but also the treasure in our life becomes the Fear of the Lord. In Isaiah 11:2 it says about the seven spirits of the Holy Spirit. There’s the Spirit of the Lord, the Spirit of Wisdom, the Spirit of Knowledge, the Spirit of Counsel, the Spirit of Understanding, the Spirit of Might and the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord. Fear of the Lord is spiritual wisdom; it is a Spirit and knowledge is a Spirit. We have to ask God every day for Him to bring that upon our life and then we can see the joy, peace, stability, wisdom, and glory that enters into our life.
